I'M NOT IN Exhibition view
P. J. does not know her place of birth or the date she was born. She moved away from home early, almost before the first memories began to form. The reason for this was that she realized early on how a life within the usual social norms would not be hers and she vowed to constantly resist it, which brought with it the consequence of breaking off contact with her parents. From then on, P. J. lived with a goose, her favorite animal and probably also the origin of her love for art. When she was later asked in interviews about specific works in her collection, she often compared the artistic quality with the perfection of a goose feather.
P. J. is 1.72 m tall, slender and has shoulder-length brown hair, which she never wears loose, however. She owns only two suits, a blue-gray Jil Sander suit and a tailored gray-blue one. She always showers in the evening, never in the morning She is the kind of a collector who detests trade fairs for their commercialism. She prefers to go to biennials or to museums. The only events she gets carried away with are fashion shows. She likes to sit there in the second row, unnoticed and straight. She doesn't go there for the clothes, but for the shoes. She herself owns a very manageable, functionally oriented shoe wardrobe: summer and winter, for leisure and formal occasions, high, mid-high, closed, open, etc. If the sole has damaged, or the leather has worn thin, she would rather cobbler repair and think twice before throwing away a pair. However, P. J. collects at least as many shoes as she does works of art, not for her own use, but for aesthetic reasons.
What few people know about her is, is that she made her money in her early years as a young actress, which enabled her to lay the financial foundation for her art collection. Since then, she prefers to watch documentary films and series - feature films less frequently (out of concern that she might suddenly discover herself on the screen), more on a specific recommendation, at a cinema with friends, film festivals and similar places.
Her first artwork she received from a friend - a small painted picture of a meadow that seems endless. It was the favorite work in her collection for a long time because of her allergy to almost all grasses. The only option was to stand in front of a painting of a meadow and enjoy the view. After this painting she started instinctively to buy, excited especially by the art of very young and unknown artists. P.J. lives on the go, she is not often at home and travels a lot. She loves cities, but when she comes home to her apartment which is also her collection, she always makes the same tour of the rooms. She starts at the entrance, goes to the left, makes a bow, taps her finger against her first small picture and knows:
It was all worth it.
